The DSSmith design team. And proud me.

19/20/23 of March was spent at DSSmith - packaging design company which is transforming it's design workflow to Rhinoceros and V-Ray. And I was there to help them with this transformation. During these three days, we followed Rhinoceros Level 1 and Level 2 summary to get and understand the knowledge needed for successful designing in Rhino's NURBS tech. The flow of the workshop was a bit fast to be able to cover as much features as possible, but in the end we were able to cover it all.

Having some free time in Brussels, I had some time to explore the city, but following photos were taken during/after the workshop, as I spent the weekend in Paris (business meeting and at the same time, my first visit of Paris and Eiffel Tower).

Walking through the city, I found many spots offering amazing views. Brussels is a beautiful city, indeed. Unless it's foggy (which it was during first days) - but it got back it's reputation easily during last 2 days of my stay :)

Amazing time outside, but let's get back to DSSmith office: (which is one of the most amazing offices I have ever seen in real, btw).

Modeling part was very exhausting (no time for photos!), so we enjoyed the time spent in V-Ray, playing with materials. And of course, I cannot forget to mention the Photoshop part!

DSSmith refurbished office in Brussels. The most amazing office I have ever seen. So far.

To sum it up - If they have Zaha Hadid's book on a table at the entrance, You know You are at the right place ;)

Terrain sculpting tools in UE4 provide a very smooth experience and with addition of alpha brushes you can get pretty realistic detail. However sculpting large-scale believable terrains is a time consuming process and you need a keen eye for how the terrain is formed in the real world.
