No hints recently really. I've been keeping a keen eye out - ready to purchase the day it arrives but looks like it could be a few months off at least...

The only clue we've had so far has been from chaos group saying that if Vray 2.0 is purchased now we'll receive a free upgrade to Vray 3.0 for rhino whenever it is released. Not sure if that means its theoretically discounted at the moment or not though...

What are going to be major changes in new version?

They are lining the program to the version for 3DS, wait and see.. Everything will be really close to the max 3.3 version, interface, material options, hair and fur and many other...

Awesome news, got me excited Pitti. (Where'd ya get your info?)

A 'slate' style material editor would be mandatory in my eyes!

I can say that a complete team is working on the new features and working on the improvements. 3.0 will be amazing for designers. :)

Really nice news to hear! So exited to get a new fresh update to 3.0. When do you guys think the beta will be released? During the summer?

Isn't the "Slate style" material editor a feature within 3dsmax and not an actual Vray feature?  Because of that I highly doubt it would show up in Vray for rhino.

Here you can see the preview of V-Ray 3.0 to SketchUp, will probably be the same one for Rhino.

At first I was a bit scared that the have tried to simplified it, to just make it easier to control for the vray beginner. But I really hope they have boost it up with more settings and that it will develop more in the vray max direction.

Looks like it's confirmed that vray 3.0 includes Fur for grass. Looks like environmental fog as well.

In vray 2.0 light cache can't be calculated with distribuited rendering, infact if you tick the box don't render with local machine the light cache pass is skipped...
