Description
The Red Blue Chair was a chair designed in 1917 by Gerrit Rietveld. It represents one of the first explorations by the De Stijl art movement in three dimensions. The chair was painted in bright colours much later, around 1923, to resemble the paintings of Piet Mondrian when Rietveld came into contact with this artist’s work in 1918.
