Hey FA, model's looking very nice. Do you scatter using grasshopper? And how many instances did you use to get the look in the renders above?
Hello! We use RhinoGrow plugin. This scene was 2500 sq. meters and I used about 27 000 scattered batches of grass. Whole scene was just 18 MB! With the tree trunk, it jumped to somewhere about 55, but still this method was extremely lightweight and comfortable :)
27.000 batches to fill a 50x50m surface is heavy, but on the other hand 18 MB is nothing. Pretty cool. You must have been using the proxy batches?
The workflow with RinoGrow is pretty straightforward and easy, but I dislike the geomtry being baked into the model. A good grasshoper scatterer would be a delight, as it won't put any further weight on the model size. I'm a Gh noob, but I'm currently trying to optimize an existing scatterer. If this idea were to succeed, I'll let you know.
That would be amazing! Rhino lacks a good scatter plugin, it's something so essential!

It would be interesting to have a tutorial about RhinoGrow plugin!
That's very easy, but yes, why not ;) I'll think about it and try to find a timeframe for making a tut :)

Hello. Does the pack include .obj + .mtl files ? Thanks
Hi, it's a good point! It's currently missing, we will add Obj in upcoming days.
what do I do wrong? when I scatter with rhinoGrow, the blocks appear on the wrong side of the surface, no matter if I flip it or not...??
To overcome this, I usually correct Normals, turn the object to Mesh and use the newly created object for scattering.
