Impressions from Suzhou, China

Besides some photos from the workshop itself, which can be found here, we would like to share some of the photos with you which we took either during our trip, or when roaming the streets of Suzhou with Davide Lombardi. Truthfully, we would have very hard times to get ANYWHERE in this city of 18.5+ milion people. For comparison, Brno (City, where FA is located) counts around 400k+ :)

First of all, we would like to thank to Davide for inviting us and mainly for guiding us through the whole process of registrations, visa, internet issues, and others.

A little bit of America in the heart of Suzhou -

the place where we stayed during the trip.

Davide explaining us everything necessary to survive, mainly in local traffic, and oh boy,

you can't imagine the precision they drive with!

We usually make very similar 3D models of surrounding architecture, when making visualizations for new skyscrapers, mainly for Shezhen,  or Hongkong.

Now we saw them in a real life too!

Even the bottle has better shape at this side of the globe!

The culture and the city is impossible to describe by any article, nor by photos. This is something you have to experience by yourself. China in something completely different than anything we have back in Europe.

Let us know what you think!

Beautiful images! What camera are you using?
Hi! I use Nikon D810, plus some lenses, mostly Sigma 85mm f1.8, and less usually Sigma 35mm Art f1.4 and Sigma Art 20mm f1.4. However, most of these photos were taken with 20mm and some of them with 35mm.

The switch

Terrain sculpting tools in UE4 provide a very smooth experience and with addition of alpha brushes you can get pretty realistic detail. However sculpting large-scale believable terrains is a time consuming process and you need a keen eye for how the terrain is formed in the real world.
