Description

Modern family house is a complete 3D scene full of essential 3D models, materials and textures. Just open, copy & paste to Your scene!

We tried to make it so complex, that you will be able to benefit from both interior and exterior parts of this scene - we prepared following rooms: Bedroom with closet (clothes and paper bags included) and shower, kitchen with dining area, with lookout to both sides of the house and living room, including the reading corner near the fireplace. Exterior has a set of bushes and trees, scanned rocks and there's even a model of Mercedes GLE on the other side of the house, not visible in renderings.

What's Included:

  • 3D file for Rhinoceros 7 + V-Ray 5
  • All necessary textures, materials and proxies
  • Sample postproduction file

--------------------------------------------

Important notes:

  • It is absolutely necessary to download and extract all corresponding archives for flawless process of rendering. Without downloading and extracting all of them, Your extracted files might not work properly.
  • It is important to do the following as a first step after extracting the files: Open File Path Editor and locate all missing assets (all are located in the Textures archive)
  • Note that sofa and bed were converted to proxies, to keep the scene as light as possible.
  • There's no 3ds Max version, nor Sketchup version. Also, we do not include obj file, as the scene is extremely extensive.
  • Be considerate when using older versions of V-Ray for Rhino: not all materials and proxies might work correctly! (I'm looking at you, V-Ray 1.5 and 2 users).
  • Tutorial - how to extract split archives

Comments
Hello, can I expect it to work fine on Rhino 5 and V-ray 3.0?
I highly recommend to upgrade to V-Ray 3.6, as not all materials or features might be available in older version.
Hi Matus,

I'm having problems extracting the archives 001-003. I tried quite some options. Is there any other option of receving those textures? Thanks, Toni

Hi Matus

Great scene but when I render out most of the plants are white without materials. All the file paths have been reassigned. Any ideas?

regards
M
Hello M,
this is weird issue, I can help you with this of course. Please send me a message via contact form, I will look into that immediately.

Hi Matus,
Likewise, most plants in the VN-Foliage layer are not coated. what should I do?
Hello junsarch, please try to repath the missing assets using the Path editor in V-Ray. That should do the job. If not, please shoot us a message via contact form.
Thank you
I'm having difficulty with unpacking zip file 01~03. Please, send me tips about it.
kaejey@gmail.com
Many thanks!
Hello didimong, you need to download ALL files (do not open them until they are all downloaded). Once it's finished, open the FIRST ONE and not the others. By opening the first one, you will get access to ALL the files in all the archives. Please extract those and forget about the rest of ZIP files - you don't need to open them. Shoot us a message via contact form if you need further assistance.

Hi, I have trouble opening textures 01-03 ..also it dosent recognize the textures in the model
Hello Antonia, please follow this tutorial: https://flyingarchitecture.com/blog/extracting-split-archives
Hi, some of the Mutli-materials are linked to "generic" sub material which seems to be automatically created by vray-proxy&Block Inst. process and requires the user to painstakingly match the right sub-materials.

Also, the Bush03~Bush07 is not even MultiMaterial but GenericMaterial. It is hard to know how the original structure should be

Lastly, in the block manager, stone_01~stone_08 has "error no geometry found" message. Would it be ok to delete it?

Some of them are minor issues but fixing it in the future release would be very helpful.
Best regards.
Hello alphadog, thanks for your message. We always double check all our scenes, but you know V-Ray - sometimes giving you random errors out of the blue for no reason. All materials should be present and IF you go to Path Editor and check all missing links and update them, it should all work flawlessly. Same for the geometry links. I will check this further on Monday morning and will get back to you asap.

Hey Matus,
there is a naming issue with the download files. When I download the Texture ZIPs 1-3 they are not labled as zips and I get a message that the Zip folders are damaged and can not be extracted.
Maybe the issue is on flying architecture.
Thanks a lot
Hello, it's not an issue - it's how split ZIP files work. First one is named 001, second one 002 and so on... For successful extraction you need to download all of them, and OPEN JUST THE FIRST ONE. This will stitch the archive and you can extract the files. Do not open 002, 003... No need to do that ;)

Okay great thank a lot!
Hi, I am running V-ray-Next plugged into Rhino 6. Will this work with the scene?
Hello, we are planning to switch to R6 and Next soon, so I'll have to check it case by case... For now, I can only say we got reported that some features do work flawlessly, however some may be missing (linked proxies, or specific materials).
hi,
me too I'm running V-ray Next into Rhino 6. Do you already have some scene fully compatible?
Thanks,
Roy
Hello, I am working on it right now, should be ready within next 2 weeks :)
Hi Matus,
any news about the V-ray NEXT version?
Hi Matus,
I am having troubles with some block instances. I can not see in scene some models as curtains, rocks etc. and I´m not even able to insert them from editor. Could you help me with that please ?
Thanks
Hello, if we hold proxies in blocks, they are usually set to "Bounding Box" preview mode to optimize the viewport performance. It's visibility can be set via V-Ray Option panel. Despite they are set to BB only, they should be correctly rendered in VfB.

Hola! Just wondering if the purchase of this scene comes with a .vrscene file aswell? Will this scene have all of the Vray settings ready to render including environment, lighting, etc..?

Or is it more so only for the 3D Models , materials, and textures?

Thanks
Hello, you get the house model, all furniture, exterior foliage, basically everything (except the birch, that was photoshopped into one shot.). The scene comes with the render settings and light setup.
Specifically the .vrscene is not included, I can;t imagine what would be a benefit of it? The scene itself is ready for render, as pictured above.
seojun9019 Jul 16, 2020
Hello! is this scene of Vray render only? not Photoshop's anything?
i wonder it! ! if not. where is that effect of photoshop
In the first image, the birch and conifer needles were added in PS, as front elements. Overal, some postproduction was applied as well, mainly some color corrections, sky swapping and so.
MollySerena Aug 26, 2020
Hello. Is this scene ready in Rhino 6?
Hello, all our scenes were tested in R6 and they should run without any issue. However, some minor differences may occur, since they were created in R5.
seojun9019 Nov 17, 2020
Hello. Matus. i have one problem, it is texture impormation of V-RAY Asset Editor.
It looks like it's made of material, but I can't see any information in Asset Editor_Material List. there are empty.
What should I do?
Hello, some materials might be created procedurally, that means they don't need any texture to work properly - they are generate don fly. Also, most important thing is to find out what version of V-Ray and Rhino you use - could you please specify both software versions? Thank you
seojun9019 Nov 19, 2020
For example, if you go into the V-ray material list to find out about the wood material, there is no wood material information.
All information does not exist.
The rhino version is 5 and V-ray 3.4.
The version is slightly different, but it doesn't seem to be a problem. There is no information in the file itself. thank you!
seojun9019 Nov 19, 2020
If necessary, I can send you some screenshots.
And can't I create a file that is compatible with version 4 of rhino 6 V-ray?
The version is too old, so if buy it, i need to install R5 and V-ray 3.4. be very uncomfortable. T T
Hi, the problem is you use outdated version - you need to use at least V-Ray 3.60.03 (you use 3.4). You'll need to upgrade to be able to use the materials and render settings from this scene.
seojun9019 Nov 20, 2020
ok. I'll try to use 3.6 vray. thank you! !
seojun9019 Nov 17, 2020
It doesn't seem to be a problem with the file path editor.
There is no information in the material list.
Maybe I should get a material file.

I want to get a call as soon as possible. Thank you.
I am sorry, but I don't get this: your problem is that you have no materials in your materials list?
seojun9019 Nov 19, 2020
Yes, so no material information is available. However, it appears that the object contains material.
I see the proeblem - as you mentioned in the other comment, you use V-Ray 3.4 which is an older version than what we used to create this model. You need to use at least V-Ray for Rhino 3.6.
Hi Matus,

Is there a way to get the nurbs geometry of the bed and sofa ?

Thanks in advance !
Hi! They weren't modeled in NURBS! Their origin is in Marvelous Designer, therefore it's a mesh geometry.
Hello Matus,

Some of the materials appeared to be white (plants, trees, bushes, rocks, etc.) Is there a solution for this, I'm currently using Rhino 7 and Vray 5.0?

Thank you.
Hello, we did not test the products with this version of Rhino and V-Ray. Not sure what happened there: Are the folders linked properly? Check the asset manager.
ddoughboy Mar 4, 2021
Matus, any update on this issue? I'm having the same problem as Ben V.. I'm also using Rhino 7 and Vray 5. All files seem to be linked correctly so a little stuck now. Thanks.
The issue might be caused by the software incompatibility - the file was created in Rhino 5 and V-Ray 3.6, not yet tested in Rhino 7 and V-Ray 5. We'll be switching to this newer version soon so I'll adjust these scenes for R7/Vr5 too.
Crystalex Jun 22, 2021
Hello,

I can't seem to be able to open this scene in latest Rhino/Vray version.
Am I doing something wrong or is it simply because the files are not up to date yet?

Many thanks and kind regards.
Kryštof J.
Hello, Are we talking about Rhino 7 + V-Ray 5?
Crystalex Jul 1, 2021
Hello Matus,
Yes, those are versions We are currently using.
I am working on the update for Rhino 7 + V-Ray 5 as we speak, so it should be ready today/tomorrow. If you purchased the scene, you'll be able to download it once it's uploaded :)
Crystalex Jul 1, 2021
Many thanks for the info.
Have a good day Matus.

I don't seem to be able to open the split asset zip files _assets.zip.001
Rhino 7 + Vray 5
Please follow the tutorial here: https://flyingarchitecture.com/blog/extracting-split-archives
Hi, does this scene work for rhino5 and vray 3.6?
Dear Matus
I download every files pack file but I'm not able to open the asset2/3 and asset3/3. Can you help me ?
Thank you in advance
Dear Matus
I managed to open the three assets (1/3 2/3 3/3) starting from the first 1/3 and open them all together in an _asset folder. The problem is when I open the file in rhino and go to the File path editor, a window opens and and I assign the right path folder_asset, Under this string appear a only green window but doesn't appear always materials that theare are in a folder like your sample. I have on my Lattop Rhino5 / 6 and 7 with Vray3.6. If you have any suggestions, thank you in advance
