Threesidence - the story.
It's 4 AM and heavy rain makes a calming noise on the glazing and roof of the hallway. Edward is still sleeping, but suddenly a squeaking noise coming from the outside wakes him up. He can't see anything through the windows, but he guesses it may be a fox chasing its prey in the backyard, where he saw it hang around yesterday. He cannot sleep anymore, and it just stopped raining - so he takes a walk outside... He doesn't see the predator, just a few white ruffled feathers lying around behind the garage.
Low mist is rising from the pond he loves so much. That was the reason why he chose this corner for their house. Sun rays pass through the trees, gently and humbly enlightening the top row of stones on the facade. This is the romantic view which he admires the most. He is going deeper into the forest, to get lost, or even to hide from his own thoughts.
Sound of a car engine closing in. Finally! He have hoped to hear it for weeks. It may have appeared as years, mainly during never ending evenings and lonely nights, when a bottle of Gentleman Jack was always at hand, when he couldn't find an inspiration for his new designs.
But today, she is coming back. It may all change. It's in her hands.
Engine sound gets louder and louder, dirt from under the tires is being thrust into the air - and finally, the car stops under the roof of the garage.
Edward hurries back to the house to welcome Cynthia. Haven't seen each other for a long time. When he comes into the house, she is already in the living room - leaving the coat thrown carelessly on the sofa, heading to the bedroom. Cynthia thought she'd find him there - he surprised her by appearing behind her back, wearing dirty shoes.
They came closer, without a word.
She whispers: "I've missed you..." He didn't let her finish.
Sun just dropped it's warm and sharp rays on her face and he knew it's more than just a sign. It was a promise. Promise of the future.
They spent the whole day enjoying each other, worshiping the beauty of nature, light and future. The house was built for that. Now its existence fulfilled its purpose. Perfect symbiosis, coexistence of nature, man and... a woman. Now they are complete and the journey may begin.
Imagine it. Standing in front of the house, low sun is drawing sharp shadows on the facade from every single leaf, every grass blade has its own meaning, each water plant is placed precisely where it's supposed to be. Everything fits into its place and gives a picture of a perfect house, of a perfect story. This is Ed's life that got a purpose today. We will hear more of Ed in the short future.
